Hello Visitors,
Here, in this blog I would like to share my experiences about my visit to antelope canyon i.e. Lower and Upper Antelope Canyon.
For those who have never been to Antelope Canyon before or not aware what is and where is antelope canyon, I would suggest you to read about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antelope_Canyon
before you go through complete blog :)
Undoubtedly, it was a beautiful trip and worth a visit and would highly recommend people to visit at least once in a lifetime.
Now, before you plan your visit to antelope canyon, I would suggest you to take some time and take a look at the pictures of upper and lower antelope canyon because after you do the bookings and visit both lower and upper antelope, you might feel that the visit to one would have been good enough because they are almost the look alike's.

Okay ... Okay..... I understand , I am not a professional photographer , but these are original raw images. And I really hope these picture will help you decide before booking a tour to Upper Antelope Canyon.
Now I will take you to my next topic of experience with Lower Antelope Canyon....
This one is really beautiful and in opinion more beautiful and cheaper than the Upper Antelope Canyon and
Trust me guys, when I booked tour for both Upper and Lower, I started to hear from everyone that its same, why book the tours for both. At first I felt, I wasted my money and thought of cancelling my tour tickets for one of the antelope canyon. I was so confused....... which tour to cancel.... then..... I thought until I experience it myself, I would not know which one of these canyons are more beautiful or worth visiting. So, I decided to go with my plan to take tours to both antelope canyons.
Days passed and we reached Page, AZ a night before we had our tours booked for Antelope Canyon.
With unexplainable and uncontrolled excitement, I and my husband headed from the hotel to checkin for Upper Antelope Canyon Tour at 8:30 AM. We boarded the tour bus along with the group of other people and a tour guide. The tour bus had the capacity of only ten and the tours leaves every 30mins with the last one at 4 or 4:30pm depending upon the weather conditions.
Before the tour starts, try to get friendly with the tour guide if possible, because they know the perfect spots, angles and camera setting to capture the beauty of Antelope Canyon if you want good pictures or else you will end up experimenting with every angle and all the settings and it could happen that none of the photos are good .... I am just kidding ... Any photo that is not blurred is fine, you can edit it later to frame it or use it as a wallpaper or do anything you like with that photo....
Memories are memories.. and they should stay in your heart first :-)
Uhhhhh... talking about our tour... we got a weird tour guide who was rushing us like anything even though the walk inside the canyon was pretty short and flat and wide enough for one group of people going inside the canyon and other group leaving the canyon at the same time. We could not even ask him to take pictures of us (Me and my husband) and canyon after he was making weird faces each time I asked him to take pictures from my phone and the camera nicely with a smile. He took one click pictures :-D though he was unwilling to see the picture if it was blurred so he doesn't have to re-click the picture :-D.... after I asked him 1st and the 2nd time nicely with smile ...
So...... you see the pictures above ...... That's the Upper Antelope Canyon
After our Upper Antelope Canyon tour completed, we came back to the tour office and went for a drive to see the lake views around and had our lunch at http://www.tapatiofactoria.com/ which I think in my opinion is the only good restaurant available around for lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. At around 4pm, we started driving to Dixie Ellis Tours https://antelopelowercanyon.com/.
This time, to our fortune we got a nice tour guide. She slowly and patiently walked us to the Lower Antelope Canyon and helped us with pictures.
Do you still wanna see how the Lower Antelope Canyon looks like ?
I would be happy and excited if you say "Yes" :-D .. Even if the answer is "No" I would still be happy and excited to take you through the pictures....
Here you go........... "Lower Antelope Canyon"
Trust me guys, the "Lower Antelope Canyon" is beautiful. You will see lot of shapes and paintings in a sculpted way. Your camera will fall in love with this canyon and would co-operate with you to capture its beauty.
Prior to my visit, I have read some blogs which says that the visit to Lower Antelope is little difficult and strenuous as there are ladder to enter into the canyon and in between the canyon.
But, please don't believe that . Because there were people in their mid 60's and 70's and some with kids under 5. Sometimes its just the excitement that takes away all your fear, hesitation and excuses from you :)
So, book tickets and be excited and watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OGSbuml7as&t=508s to get a feel of your tour in advance.
Also, if you are booking a tour for both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, try to book it on the same day with the gap of 3-4 hours so that you do not have to rush and plus there is an advantage that you will have to pay the permit fee(Yes, you require a permit i.e. $8/person) only once. But make sure on your second tour you show the confirmation email of the first tour to the agent while checking in. You will get the permit fee of $8/person back :) .
Suggestions if you are going to lower antelope canyon ...
1. Wear shorts or full length leggings or Jeans or Capri's.
2. Try not to wear long skirts or long dresses that go below you foot because there are stairs to go up and down the canyon, it can happen that someone behind you can step on your skirt or dress and make you fall.
3. Wear comfortable shoes/try not to wear heels. The steps are not suitable for walking with heels.
4. Must carry a hat/cap and a water bottle.
